Michael Bell
Professional Lecturer of Business Law
Bio
Michael R. Bell, a native southerner, received his B.A. in Economics from Howard University (Washington, D.C), and his J.D from Tulane a University Law School (New Orleans, LA), where he served on the Moot Court Board. Michael co-founded Tulane Law School鈥檚 innovative and highly regarded winter Intersession (Corporate Law 鈥 Mergers & Acquisitions) Bootcamp, for which he continues to serve as a faculty member.
Michael鈥檚 legal experience includes White & Case LLP (New York and London, UK) and King & Spalding, LLP (New York), where he worked in Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Debt Finance. In addition, his financial experience includes corporate banking positions at JP Morgan Chase and Credit Lyonnais.
Michael鈥檚 research focus is interdisciplinary, and he is currently working on an article exploring the role of law and public policy as related to 鈥渟mart sustainable cities鈥. Michael is a Committee Member (by appointment), of the Standing Committee for General Law of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies. Currently, Michael teaches Legal Environment of Business and Business & Society. In his pedagogy, Michael strives to integrate both theory and practice, leveraging his broad experience in the corporate environment. Lastly, Michael is brand new to the Hudson Valley and is eager to explore the numerous outdoors activities available.
