The safety of all Commencement participants and guests is at the forefront of our planning for a successful event. The severe weather plans for this event will allow students and their families to be at the center of this important experience.

In the event of Severe Weather: 

Friday, May 23

No change. The Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be held at the regularly scheduled time of 6 p.m. inside the McCann Arena, as planned.

In the case of a major severe weather event that would impact the indoor ceremony, all graduates will be notified via their Marist email and the Marist Alert text messaging system, and information will be posted here on the Marist website. 

Saturday, May 24

Three indoor Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies will be held at McCann Arena.

Schools

9 a.m.

School of Communication and the Arts, and School of Liberal Arts

1 p.m.

School of Management, School of Science, and School of Professional Programs

5 p.m.

School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, School of Computer Science & Mathematics

 

Guests should plan to arrive an hour before the ceremony start time. 

Notification Process for Saturday, May 24

If a decision is made to move Undergraduate Commencement indoors, all graduates will be notified via their Marist email and the Marist Alert text messaging system, and information will be posted here on the Marist website. 

Undergraduate ceremony ticket holders will be notified of the new ceremony times via the email address associated with the ticket reservation. Tickets will only be valid for the single Commencement event that applies to the graduate's School relating to their academic degree.
