Lab Manager: Purdue University
Dr. Laura Elenbaas is hiring a full-time lab manager to coordinate several research projects on moral development and intergroup attitudes in childhood. Primary responsibilities include community partner coordination, participant recruitment, data collection, team member training, and administrative management. This position will include opportunities to grow as a developmental scientist and would be especially well suited for someone interested in graduate studies. This is a two-year, in-person position. Start date is summer 2025.

Lab Manager: Brown University
The , directed by Dr. Julia Marshall, investigates children's social and moral development, with a particular emphasis on the development of cooperation. We work with children ages 5 to 12 in laboratory, school, and public settings, as well as with adults through online platforms. The lab also collaborates with international partners to examine the development of cooperation across cultures.
The Lab Manager (LM) will play a central role in supporting the lab鈥檚 work across four major areas, with particular emphasis on cross-cultural research coordination and dissemination:
First, the LM will oversee the coordination, recruitment, and execution of research studies with children. This includes managing participant databases, recruiting families, scheduling and testing participants, and conducting data collection in lab, school, and public settings. The LM will also manage relationships with cross-cultural collaborators and coordinate logistics for international data collection efforts, with the possibility of travel.
Second, the LM will support the analysis and dissemination of research findings. This involves performing data cleaning and statistical analyses, helping with coding tasks for various projects, and contributing to manuscripts and presentations. The LM will assist with preparing figures, tables, and formatting papers for publication, as well as presenting findings in lab meetings and at scientific conferences.
Third, the LM will help train and coordinate undergraduate research assistants. This includes onboarding new team members, supporting their training in research protocols, and managing LM scheduling and participation.
Fourth, the LM will assist with the lab鈥檚 administrative needs. These responsibilities include managing equipment and supplies, supporting IRB and grant processes, maintaining records, and helping to update the lab website and internal documentation systems.
This position offers the opportunity to be deeply involved in all stages of the research process and is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate study in psychology or a related field. Lab Manager: Unversity of California, Santa Barbara
Position Description
The Lab for Infant Learning and Cognition (LILAC) within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for an open, full-time Junior Specialist position. We are looking for a hardworking, motivated individual who is passionate about cognitive development and evolutionary psychology. Under the direction of Dr. Annie E. Wertz, the LILAC investigates how infants and young children learn about the natural world, with an emphasis on plants. We conduct studies with infants and young children in the lab and in more naturalistic settings (e.g., gardens), and we engage in collaborative cross-cultural and comparative projects.
Duties
Responsibilities of the Junior Specialist will include assisting with research projects investigating infant cognition and early cognitive development. The Junior Specialist will assist with recruiting, organizing, and scheduling participants, recruiting, training, and managing a large team of student research assistants, testing participants in the lab and off-campus (e.g., gardens, preschools, children鈥檚 museums), coding and analyzing behavioral data, collecting infant eye-tracking data, maintaining a participant database, stimuli creation, conducting literature reviews, facilitating presentations within the lab, and preparing results for external presentations and publications. Additional duties will include: contributing to the administrative tasks of the lab, such as preparing IRB protocols and grants, ordering and maintaining lab supplies, assisting with reimbursements, and identifying and coordinating with community partners.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Applicants must have completed or be currently enrolled in a BA or BS program in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or a related field at the time of application.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
- If applicant is currently enrolled in a BA or BS program, they must have a bachelor鈥檚 degree conferred by the start date of the position.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in research as evidenced by previous laboratory experience or research assistant positions (at least 1 year duration).
- Experience working with infants and young children, preferably in a research setting (at least 1 year duration).
- Experience with data preparation and analysis, including familiarity with statistical languages/software (e.g., using R, Python, JASP, or SPSS). (at least 1 year duration)
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Google Calendar, Microsoft Office, and Zoom (at least 1 year duration)
Preferred qualifications
- Applicants should have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Prior experience assisting with recruiting, scheduling, and/or organizing work within a team.
- Experience with behavioral coding programs (e.g., Datavyu; at least 6 months duration).
- Experience with eye-tracking data collection, preferably with infants (at least 6 months duration).
- Interest in infant cognition and/or evolutionary psychology.
- A demonstrated record of academic excellence as evidenced by outstanding grades.
- Interest in conducting independent research projects.
- Experience managing a team.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with the German language (to facilitate working with data and study materials from Germany).

Research Coordinator: University of South Carolina

The Early Social Development Lab at the University of South Carolina is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator to support several NIH- and Foundation-funded research studies focused on attention and social behavior of preterm infants and infants siblings of children with autism.
Our longitudinal research uses mobile electrocardiogram (ECG) technology to assess heart rate phases related to attention in infants and their caregivers during naturalistic social and non-social interactions (see our NIH-funded project). All study visits take place in families鈥 homes. The Research Coordinator will be part of a collaborative team including undergraduate research assistants, graduate students, psychologists, and the Principal Investigator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead in-home data collection with full-term and preterm infants and their caregivers, including families with and without a history of ASD
- Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated mobile physiological and behavioral data collection systems
- Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling
- Administer experimental protocols and developmental assessments
- Conduct data entry and post-processing of behavioral and physiological data
- Mentor undergraduate research assistants
- Assist with preparing conference posters and manuscripts for dissemination of findings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor鈥檚 or Master鈥檚 degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or a related field by the start date of the position
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
